Education is key to representative democracy and clearly needs defending.
James Madison , the chief architect of the U.S. constitution, had astutely asserted, "Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people that mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives."
Wednesday's article we will be doing a deep dive on today's ruling made by the Supreme Court that affect the department of education as well as others.
We will continue the fight here at Lady LiberTea until our body goes cold. I only hope between now and then I am able to educate enough people who can carry on the message, because together we CAN prevail.
They are also trying to suggest that corporate IQ tests should replace education. Having been an uneducated smart person, there is a lot of power abuse by corporations when you don’t have a degree. They suppress your wages and keep you out of management because “you don’t REALLY know what you’re doing…”. 🤦♀️
There are plenty of traits that corporate IQ tests actively try to weed out that make exemplary qualities in leadership, speaking truth to power being but one.
Those tests are not the sole judge of intelligence and should not be seen as such. Ever.
Nor for that matter should a degree. If this regime's sycophantic cabinet has taught us anything it is that a degree does not equate common sense or an actual understand or skill in what you were taught.
Yes. I think they are trying to gaslight people with those assurances - don’t worry, we will give IQ tests and people who could have gone to school but couldn’t afford it with these changes will still be able to get white collar jobs. Just a guess.
I think the reality is to see at an early age who is smart enough, inquisitive enough, to dream and wonder—and therefore must be silenced or controlled.
I appreciate this so much. Dayton is absolutely brimming with centers for higher education, I am really concerned about the impact this insanely stupid budget will have on them. Colleges support more than brain power here, they're a huge employer - and they support many, many small businesses that wouldn't thrive without the thirst for knowledge being availed to all. Dark times. I appreciate that you give actionable thoughts. We all know things are whack, we just don't know what the heck to do about it.
Thank you Wendy! I am glad that the actionable thoughts are reaching people. That is one of the things I think has been missing the most from conversations and places I excel.
This is a historical time as you have pointed out before, and while that means we must look to history to see how they have handled these challenges we also need creative ways to implement them in todays fight. Combining those, problem solving and idea generation are something that I excel at so I try to include something like this in every post, something you can do beyond read.
Some like share or reach out to representatives I repeat, but consistency is key. I also try to make sure they actually apply to what you just spent 5 to 10 minutes of your time reading about. This is not to say that these are the only ways-but I have found one spark of inspiration often ignites a few more.
Thank you Craig, both for sharing my voice and for amplifying this message. It is vital we recognize the coordinated attack for what it is, and start countering it.

I could easily see that being the motivation.
